Pneumatic Solenoid Valves

The body is cut and formed from aluminum alloy profiles, with built-in aluminum alloy valve core, full-turn copper coil, and fluororubber sealing ring. There are a full range of models, and all models are strictly leak-proof before leaving the factory.

Pneumatic Solenoid Valves Manufacturer

Pneumatic solenoid valves are also called air electromagnets, or simply pneumatic solenoids.
Pneumatic solenoid valves can be divided into pilot type, which is an automatic control element that generates electromagnetic force through the electromagnetic coil to drive the valve core to reciprocate in the valve body, thereby realizing the opening and closing, reversing or flow regulation of compressed air.
Another element is the element directly controlled by compressed air, called the air-controlled valve, which is a control element in the entire pneumatic system.
This energy conversion of “electricity generates magnetism, and magnetism is converted into mechanical energy” enables the pneumatic solenoid valve to have a millisecond response speed (typical response time ≤50ms), meeting the control requirements of high-speed automation scenarios.

Pneumatic solenoid valve working principle

Its core working principle mechanism can be broken down into three steps

Pneumatic Solenoid Valves 3

How it works

  • Power-on state: When the electromagnetic coil is energized, a magnetic field is generated, and the valve core is attracted to overcome the spring force to move the valve core to the designed valve core notch position corresponding to the inlet and outlet holes of the valve body, and the compressed air flows along the preset path.
  • Power-off state: The electromagnetic force disappears, and the spring resets and pushes the valve core to block the air flow or switch the flow direction.
  • Sealing and guiding: The sealing structure between the valve core and the valve body (such as nitrile rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, fluororubber) ensures no leakage and guarantees movement accuracy.

Pneumatic solenoid valve usage instructions

  • Pneumatic solenoid valve series solenoid valves are pilot-operated solenoid valves.
A starting pressure is required, generally around 0.15Mpa.
Using some low-power compressors may not meet the air pressure requirements, resulting in the solenoid valve being unable to switch.
  • The reversing of the pneumatic solenoid valve requires an actuator such as a cylinder.
If the cylinder is not connected, there is no back pressure inside the valve body, which is equivalent to direct blowing.
In this case, due to the low air pressure inside the valve body, the reversing requirements may not be met.
You can block the air outlet with your fingers to form back pressure inside the valve body.
  • Before using the pneumatic solenoid valve, the pipes and joints should be cleaned to ensure that the compressed air is clean and free of debris.

Otherwise, the valve body may be filled with impurities, and corrosion, blockage, wear of internal accessories, etc. may cause artificial damage to the solenoid valve.

  • When using raw tape for the joint, leave about 1.5 to 2 pitches of thread head to prevent the raw tape fragments from entering the Pneumatic solenoid valve and causing blockage and damage to the solenoid valve.
  • If the fluid used is too hot or corrosive, it will corrode the seal and affect the seal life. Be sure to determine the properties of the fluid before use. If the fluid has poor properties, please contact us for customization and replacement of better quality seals such as FKM or EPDM.
  • Pneumatic solenoid valve voltage mismatch, overcurrent, circuit surge, may cause the coil to burn out. Refer to the following table for coil specifications before use.

  • When there are strong magnets or a large amount of iron filings in the use environment.
The solenoid valve may be affected by magnetic interference and produce a gap, which will cause abnormal reversal, reduce the service life of the solenoid valve, and be unstable.

What to do when Pneumatic Solenoid Valves cannot be reversed?

  • When the Pneumatic solenoid valve does not reverse, you can conduct a power-on test to see if the coil makes a slight sound of magnet attraction after power is turned on. If not, it means there may be a problem with the coil, either the wiring is wrong or the coil is damaged, and the coil needs to be replaced for testing.
  • After confirming that the coil is working properly, if the Pneumatic solenoid valve still does not reverse, press its manual reversing button to see if it can reverse. If it can be reversed manually, it means that its pilot component is damaged. It is necessary to further check the pilot component or directly replace it for testing.
  • If manual operation is ineffective, please check whether the compressed air pressure is sufficient.
Whether the A/B port is connected to the cylinder, and whether the back pressure inside the valve body is sufficient.
If everything is normal, the internal structure of the valve body is damaged, and the connection between the valve core, valve body and sealing ring is too tight.
  • The above problems are all intact.
From the perspective of damage to the internal structural parts of the valve body, experienced customers can disassemble the pneumatic solenoid valve for inspection in a clean environment.
If the following situations occur: raw tape fragments are entangled, and long-term use of unclean compressed air leads to impurities inside and corrosion of internal components and accessories, they can be cleaned and the corresponding accessories can be replaced.
