Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings

Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings

What are stainless steel push to connect fittings?

The structure of Stainless Steel Pneumatic Push In Fittings is the same as that of conventional pneumatic push fittings, and the interior is composed of stainless steel circlip locks, seals, and press rings. The difference is that all components are made of 304 stainless steel, and the NBR seals are replaced with higher-quality fluororubber. It has the highest corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance, so when used in some extreme environments, people first think of stainless steel pneumatic fittings.

The first choice for pneumatic components with high demands

Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings Features and Characteristics

High temperature resistance, corrosion resistance

The sealing temperature range of fluorine rubber is -20℃~200℃, and other structures are made of 304 stainless steel.

Easy to operate

No other tools are needed, and anyone with no experience can disassemble it by pressing it, and it can be used by pushing it in.

No rust, no oxidation

The whole structure is made of 304 stainless steel, which is the first choice for food production, chemical production, medical equipment and lithium battery manufacturing.

High strength

Made of all metal, it has high wear resistance.

Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings Types

Its types are divided by the connection points: there are 2-connection points Union elbow fitting and Union straight fitting, and 3-connection points Union Tee fitting. It has various shapes and is flexible and applicable for on-site installation.

Union Tee

When you need to split a line into two outgoing lines, you need a stainless steel tee fitting. You also need one if you want to merge two lines into one. This is perfect for increasing the flexibility of your existing equipment. They are also useful for planning new lines that may need to adhere to some unconventional dimensions.

Union Elbows

If you only need to connect two lines, a tee is redundant and leaves only one unused port. Union elbows are able to connect two lines without sacrificing any leverage. They are also very strong. Engineers often consider connectors and fittings to be the weak points in a gas line. While these elbows are naturally not as strong as single lines, they are still very resistant to leaks, so using them will not cause any noticeable pressure loss.

Straight Union

If you've been around pneumatics for any length of time, you've most likely come into contact with a straight-through fitting more than any other fitting. It's used to connect two pieces of tubing without changing the natural shape of the tubing in any way. This makes it very versatile. Any time you need to connect two pieces of tubing of the same diameter to create a secure in-line air connection, you'll need one of these fittings. Shops usually keep several of these fittings on hand just in case you need them. They're so useful, there's really no reason not to have them.

Male Connector

Connectors are needed when you need to connect different parts that don't fit together. Technicians often tell of times when they were left with a male or female connector and no equivalent for the circuit they were working on. Again, you need to have enough connectors on hand to avoid interruptions in your workflow when you need them.

Male Elbow

In some cases, you may need to be able to connect one component to another at an angle. If you need to connect a female header adapter to the rest of your circuit, then you should consider buying a practical part like this. It should easily fit through corners and get into any tight spaces.

Male Connector – Internal Hexagon Socket Head

Finding the right hexagon fittings can be difficult. That's why Myfeqd offers hexagon fittings in a variety of sizes. It's perfect for any situation where you need a hexagon socket to lock tubing.

Male Branch Tee

Those who plan to branch off along multiple paths will need the right fittings. While it may be tempting to use a traditional tee fitting, these fittings will work better because they are designed for this specific use.

Bulkhead Union

Bulkhead connectors connect two pipes through a panel without changing their orientation. They feature an external fastening mechanism to ensure they cannot fall out.

Branch Y

This Y-branch is ideal if you need to split a line in two without changing direction. This eliminates the need to redesign the line to accommodate accessories.

How to Choose Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings

When choosing a stainless steel pneumatic quick-connect fitting, first consider the applicable environment, because its cost is relatively high, if it can be replaced by conventional pneumatic push fittings, it can be used.
The second is the ambient operating temperature, and then the selection of basic parameters determines the stability of the product.

Consider the environment

Depending on the environment, we should choose stainless steel pneumatic quick-connect connectors of different standards.

  • Food and pharmaceutical industries: Suitable for 316 stainless steel because it has excellent corrosion resistance and meets FDA standards.
  • Chemical and corrosive environments: Compared with 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel is more suitable for conveying corrosive gases and liquids.
  • Conventional pneumatic systems: Suitable for 304 material, used in automation equipment, relatively low cost, long service life, high strength.

Determine thread size

  • NPT (National Pipe Thread):Common in North America, often used in high-pressure systems.
  • BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper):Used in Europe and Asia, unlike NPT, they have different angles, NPT threads have a 60° taper, PT threads have a 55° taper, so compatibility should be confirmed.
  • G Thread (Parallel Thread):Suitable for low-pressure fluid connections, often used with sealing rings.

For more information about G thread, please refer to our product recommendations. Please contact us for more information.

Determine the pipe size to be connected

The pipe fittings are too small to meet the work requirements. The flow rate is small. The pipe is too large, which causes waste of procurement costs and resources. The conventional key size diameters are 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, and 16mm.
The standard thread sizes are; M5, PT1/4, PT1/8, PT3/8, PT1/2, PT3/4

Select the seal material

  • NBR (Nitrile Rubber):Offers good oil resistance, suitable for general industrial environments.
  • FKM (Viton Fluororubber):Resistant to high temperatures and chemical corrosion, ideal for high-temperature applications.
  • EPDM:Excellent water and acid/alkali resistance, commonly used in pure water and food-grade applications.

Choose good suppliers with many years of technical experience, strict quality control, ISO and CE, environmental protection certification.

How to Correctly Install Stainless Steel Pneumatic Fittings

Correct installation of pneumatic stainless steel quick-connect fittings helps to stabilize equipment operation and reduce unnecessary maintenance.

Determine the connecting medium; such as PU air pipe, cut it flat

Use a special pipe cutter to visually check or compare the pipe end with a reference object to see if it is smooth and burr-free. Rough or uneven surface ends may damage the O-ring in the joint or fail to make contact, causing leakage.

Observe whether the keys and accessories are clean?

If there are foreign objects, such as dust, metal chips, oil or other impurities, be sure to clean them up to prevent blockage and damage to other pneumatic components. Use clean air to blow them out.

Insertion tubes, such as PU trachea

Check if the product is intact and has no defects, then press the release ring cap, insert the air tube with a little force, release the release ring cap, and the installation is complete.

Test for Leaks

Connect the compressed air to apply air pressure, then use soapy water or test spray, or make a simple leak-proof device. Fill a large-diameter container with 70% water, put the joint in, and check for bubbles. If it is static, there is no leakage. Otherwise, there is a leak and the joint needs to be replaced or reinstalled, or the internal structural accessories of the joint need to be replaced.

Proper Removal

First, make sure there is no air pressure to prevent strong force from damaging the joint structure and causing personal injury under air pressure. Press the release ring cap to pull out the air pipe.
