HFY series pneumatic parallel gripper is a pivot-style (Y-type/angular) pneumatic gripper cylinder that utilizes a hinged lever mechanism to actuate the opening and closing of the gripper jaws; this differs from the parallel-style HFD and HFP models. Air pressure drives the piston, and a linkage mechanism causes the two jaws to rotate around a pivot point, opening and closing in a Y-shaped motion. It is classified as an angular gripper; a single-acting, normally open version (HFTY) is also available.
An internal single-piston drive mechanism actuates two sets of gripper jaws, causing them to pivot around a bottom fulcrum;
HFY (Double-acting): Controlled by dual air supply lines; air pressure drives both opening and clamping actions; no return spring;
HFTY (Single-acting, normally open): Springs hold the jaws open; air pressure engages clamping; the workpiece is automatically released when air pressure is cut off.
