HFR series Finger cylinder 180° Opening/Closing Type

HFR series Finger cylinder 180° Opening/Closing Type consists of pneumatic grippers featuring a 180° wide-opening, pivot-style action; all models are double-acting and designed as direct equivalents to the SMC MHY2 series. Utilizing a cam drive mechanism to rotate the two gripper jaws around a pivot point, they achieve a maximum opening angle of 180°—allowing the jaws to lie completely flat—making them specialized cylinders for wide-angle gripping applications.

Dual-piston and cam-driven mechanism with dual-port pneumatic control:
Air Inlet 1: Gripper jaws retract inward to clamp;
Air Inlet 2: Gripper jaws rotate outward to open, spreading flat to 180°;
No internal springs; opening and closing are controlled by air pressure, and the jaws maintain their current position upon loss of air supply.

A metal sheet separates the gripper and the front cover, reducing wear and extending service life.

The finger opening and closing mechanism features a special design that effectively prevents debris from entering.

180° opening/closing action simplifies pick-and-place operations and avoids the workspace occupied by moving workpieces.

Mounting holes are provided on both the side and bottom surfaces to facilitate installation and use under various conditions; mounting options include side, rear, and front configurations.

Mounting slots for round sensors (magnetic switches) are provided on two sides, eliminating the need for mounting accessories and offering convenience and flexibility.

The clamping torque value applies when using an air pressure of 0.5 MPa.
